Tips for Outdoor Christmas Lawn Decorations?
I’d like to set up my first Christmas lawn display. I’m thinking of buying a reindeer & sleigh that are already strung with lights. I’m curious about how to keep them from blowing away. Also I’m thinking of lighting up a nice maple tree with a spotlight. Any advice would be great. Thanks.
General thoughts – simple and tasteful is better than gaudy and tacky. If you think it might be too much, it is. If it affects your power bill, it definitely is too much. If your mailman can’t deliver your mail any more because of the decorations… well, you know.
In general, I would think that the sleigh and reindeer would be spiked to the ground with stakes. If they don’t come with any, go to the local hardware store, sporting goods store, etc, and get some decent tent stakes. That should hold them in most winds.
